As the old saying goes, "you can't compare apples and oranges." The creator of this saying was terribly misinformed. As with many other types of food, apples and oranges can be compared. In the same sense, they can also be distinguished from one another in many ways.
Apples and oranges both derive from trees. They are naturally harvested and used as forms of nourishment. They are also often both being praised for their content of vitamins (especially A & C), minerals, phytochemicals, fiber and antioxidants. They are both classified as members of the fruit group. As with many other fruits, apples and oranges are often blended to create juices. The two fruits have a similar, round shape, both of which have a peel as well...
