Today, population is increasing in masses day by day and a lot of people think that limiting population growth will help us protect our environment. In my opinion, population growth is a key factor in protecting the environment due to the fact that people excessively use resources available in nature. Also, Population increase will lead to the need for more resources so that people can live a successful life. For example, population increase will led to the increase of number of cars used by people for transportation and thus will increase pollution that is hazardous to the environment.
In any country population size helps determine demand for resources and levels of pollution. The other important factors that get affected by the environment are consumption levels per capita and technology (Ehrlich, 317). Industrialized countries consume far more resources per capita than developing countries. Population growth highly occurs in developing countries since they are emerging out of poverty which leads to industrial growth and hence destruction of environment. I am going to focus on main ways on how to protect environment from the increased number of people in order to prevent total loss of environment.
