Mexico's Day of the Dead
Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about the History and traditions of Mexico's 2 day holiday known as the Day of the Dead.
Central Idea: Mexicans believe in the life-death-rebirth continuum and do many different and interesting things to commemorate the life and death of loved ones.
Main Points
I. November 1st is All Saints Day, which is devoted to deceased children. Their graves are decorated with toys and colorful balloons.
II. November 2nd is known as All Souls day; this is when all deceased adults are honored with displays made up of their favorite food and drinks as well their personal items.
