Just like every sector of the Philippine society, the youth is equally deprived of major benefits fitting for a human being. There are many of those who cannot finish schooling because of poverty. Perhaps, their families expect them to find a job instead of being a burden. Others accidentally are faced with responsibilities that may force them to give up on their studies. Aside from finding a job, early pregnancies can also be added to this category. But the worst of it all is that much of the youth today are confronted with vices that have pervasive consequences. Examples of theses are drug trafficking, prostitution, and other criminal acts. It does not take a genius to figure out the equation of the situation of the youth. The primary problem is indeed rooted to poverty and the inefficiency of the government as well as the people to come together and act on it.
