An outsider is somebody who does not fit in with the crowed or who is left out of the 'cool' group at school. The main problems with the outsider often lie within that person due to the fact that they think they are 'cool' anyway and they think all the people in the 'cool' group like them and always speak to them by saying 'freak' or 'try hard'. I will be discussing how outsiders become who they are and I will also be discussing what makes an outsider. In the book 'A Patch of Blue' the outsider is Selina, she is just like everybody else in everyway except that she can't see. She doesn't fit in with everybody else because she can't see like everybody else. To make up for her lack of sight she tries to imagine thinks in her mind.
The novel 'A Patch of Blue' is about a blind girl, Selina D'arcy who lives with her Ole Pa and Rose-ann in a quiet town in Australia. She does not know much about her Ole Pa except that he works in 'Mens' and Rose-ann works in 'Womens'. She works for Mr Faber, threading beads on thread. She loves to sit and listen to all the sounds in the house, but when she goes to the park she meets a new friend by the name of George...
