Throughout the past two decades the cell phone industry has expanded significantly increased. In this paper I will be examining the progress of cell phones in our society over the past two decades. Through my initial research I have found many scholarly articles on the cell phone and what it has done for our society not only to improve upon our daily lives, but I have also found articles on the negative effects the cell phone has brought about. It has been said that the majority of the cell phone industries growth is in the business industry (Jarratt). Although, I also found a contradictory article which exclaims that a recent survey taken by six hundred and twenty five middle and high school students shows that fifty five percent of the students own their own cell phones ("Teens trust cell phones.
