Ch. 1 “Nikki!”, Dom yelled into her room, “Get up, you’re gonna be late!” She rolled over and looked at the clock - 7:35AM. Oh shit! I’ve over slept she thought to herself. She jumped out of bed and quickly took a shower. She dressed in a pair of tight, low-rise, flare black jeans, and a white tank top with a three-quarter sleeve, baby blue, button up shirt over it. She pulled her shoulder length, dark brown hair into a messy bun, and lightly applied make-up. She glanced at the clock – 7:50AM. 10 minutes to get to work she thought. Nikki put on her shoes and grabbed her purse. She ran out of her room, down the hall and out the door. “Bye Dom!”, she yelled and closed the door. “Bye Nik.”, Dom said to the closed door. He shook his head and chuckled to himself. Nikki ran to her car, which was a 2000, hunter green, 2 door Mustang. She jumped in and headed to work. What was normally a 30 minute drive, took Nikki about 15 minutes. As she drove she silently cursed the traffic for being slow, and herself for over sleeping. She parked her car, and reached for her nametag. She then realized that she was in such a rush that she had left it on her dresser. “Dammit”, she muttered to herself, “Good thing I’m the only girl.” So she grabbed her purse and hurried to get inside RGM Records where she worked. She was in such a hurry that she wasn’t paying attention to where she was going, and bumped into someone. “Sorry, Excuse me”, she mumbled and then looked up. Her blue eyes lit up as she realized who it was. “ELIJAH!”, she smiled and gave him a big hug. “Hey”, he said smiling back, “What’s up?” She glanced down at her watch and saw that it was 8:10AM. “Shit, I’m late!”, she exclaimed. “For what?”, Lij questioned. “Oohhhh…geee Lij I dunno…Work Maybe”, Nik replied “You’re a smart ass, you know that don’t you?”, Lij asked. “Yes I do, and I learned from the best”, she replied grinning at him. “ Ha Ha very funny”, he stated, “ well since I don’t want to make you too late for work I’ll see you later.” “Yeah”, she replied, “I’ll give you a call later and we can do lunch, ok?” “Sounds good”, he replied, “Later Nikki.” “Later Lij.” She walked inside of RGM Records at about 8:15AM. “Little late aren’t we Nik?” “Don’t start Jason”, she replied pointing her finger at him. He stuck his tongue out at her and smiled. She flipped him off and smiled back. “Love you too Nik”, Jason replied sarcastically. “I know you do”, she replied while walking to put her purse away in the back. I know I do too he thought. The rest of the morning went by rather slowly. Around 12:15PM she decided to call Lij and tell him to meet her at RGM Records at 12:30PM so they could do lunch. While waiting for Lij to arrive, Nikki and Jason got bored and decided to play thumb war. “YES! I won again!”, Nik shouted. “That’s only because you cheated!”, Jason protested. “No I didn’t…” “Yes you did…” “No…” “Yes…” “Jason Scott Davis, I won fair and square and you know it!” “OH, so your gonna go the full name route I see…well then Nicole Trystin Monaghan, how about another round?”, Jason asked with a mischievous grin on his face.
