Observing the Urban Landscape

The neighborhood I choose to observe was the Castle Gate Circle, Lisa Lane neighborhood. (See Figure 1) The start point was a house at the beginning of Castle Gate Circle, which is located in a single family neighborhood built in 1988. I walk down Castle Gate Circle in the middle of the street because they are no sidewalks and there are cars along the curbside. The first thing I notice is that most of the driveways are only one car driveways. This is because it is a single family zoned neighborhood. The other driveways that were not one car driveways were modified in to a two car driveway. I continue my observation and see that there are some basketball goals up, which to me indicates that there is not a high value of traffic that goes through this neighborhood. I see that all of the yards in this neighborhood are neat in appearance. This might be because of a neighborhood ordinance. The most unusual plant vegetation that I saw in this neighborhood was a Banana tree followed by a cacti and a bush that needed to be trimmed but maybe it was like that for a reason...
