I. Demodectic Mange
A. Most dogs have it at some point in time.
1. All dogs that are raised normally by their mothers, posses the mites because they are transferred from the mother to the pup by cuddling and feeding during the first few days of life.
2. Puppies that are raised by hand do not receive the mites.
3. For some unknown reason certain dogs are badly affected by the mites, which cause a serious skin disease.
