Being a successful high school athlete is tough. It takes time and effort and a clear mindset. The struggles that a normal high school athlete goes through are in many ways similar to those of William and Arthur in the movie "Hoop Dreams."
Arthur and William are documented in the movie "Hoop Dreams" as high school kids growing up in Chicago with dreams of being NBA stars. Both boys are shown how hard you must work to make your goals and your dreams pay off.
So much time and effort has to be put into a dream, and sometimes that is what has to be your main priority. Galen Rupp, a nationally ranked runner from Central Catholic High School describes his training program. "70 miles a week, that and many other strenuous training physically" stated Rupp in a previous interview. Rupp competes fiercely in every race, despite his asthma, winning 2 consecutive cross country championships in the state of Oregon. Physical training is Rupp's main key to success...
