Pay it Forward
I stumbled across this movie two years ago, and was drawn to it again for this assignment. I actually bought a different movie and then returned it and rented Pay it Forward. This movie is about human compassion and sends a strong message that one person can make a difference in the world.
It opens with a hostage scene, where a reporter is attempting to get the inside story, however, he is dismissed by the cops. The constant interruption to the cops by the reporter, allows the perpetrator to drive off and escape. In his fleeing escape, the perpetrator totals the reporter's car. Stunned the reporter stands in the street and stares at the crumpled metal before him. A stranger walks up to him and offers him his car, a Jaguar, no strings attached. Of course, the reporter is weary and hesitant of why a complete stranger (a lawyer played by Gary Werntz) would make such an offer. The stranger replies, "Just do three favors for three other people"...
