MSLQ results
Past experience found me having trouble in planning ahead and having a positive attitude towards my academic success. Taking the MSLQ made me realize that my problems revolve just around these immobility's, metacognition and self-efficacy, metacognition having to do with planning ahead and setting goals, and self-efficacy has to do with having doubt and low self confidence in your college experience. In the past, I would wait to study for a test at the last second, and not prepare myself well enough before the exam. When I would get my test back I would score low on it, this made me think that it was impossible for me to do any better. Therefore, resulting in me having little or no confidence in myself when it came to test time. I would expect myself to get a bad grade, and even while I was studying, I would think to myself, "what it the point, I'm just going to get a bad grade on it." I had no confidence whatsoever in myself, that I could not be like others that were doing well, I thought it was impossible for me to be a good student. Looking over the material that I scored low on the MSLQ made me realize that there are ways to improve my metacognition and self-efficacy.
To master these skills I must be more aware of test dates, and start studying a few days before the actual test. Another method I used to improve my metacognition is looking over the notes right after class, it helped me understand what I wrote, and put the information in my long term memory...
