Religious Studies 205 Research Assignment
In Religious studies 205 we have learned about many terms, places, and people associated with many religions. In all it has been very clear but a few terms I plan on clarifying in this paper. During my research I found a few terms I did not know the meaning of, they were pilgrimage, Piety, and the enlightenment. On further research these terms became much clearer and I found them to be used extensively in Religious books such as The Christian Travelers Guide to Germany (Hexham, 2001). Thus I think it is important for everybody to have a good understanding of these terms.
Kln, once known as Oppidium (38 B.C) is a great historic sight found in Germany. It is also the birthplace of Agrippina, who was the third wife of the Emperor Claudius and remembered as the mother of Nero. Kln is also were Ursula, a 2nd-century Christian princess, along with her 11,000 Virgin were martyred. This made Kln a great pilgrimage center, and many churches were erected to commemorate the martyrs...
