The book I read was "The Face on the Milk Carton". It was about a 15 year old girl named Janie Johnson with thick red hair which her best friends Sarah-Charlotte liked to call "Serious hair" . She was an only child and lived with her parents in Connecticut.
She had an allergy to milk but one day she was so sick of being the only one at her lunch table not having milk and being able to look at the "missing" ads on the back of the container so she started drinking her friends Sarah-Charlotte's milk. She looked at the "missing" ad on the back of the container and the little girl with her red hair tight in pig tails looked really familiar to Janie. It said that the little girl was kidnapped from a shopping mall in New Jersey about 12 years ago. Janie recognized the dress the little girl was wearing and her looks. Then Janie realized, the little girl on the back of the milk carton reported to be kidnapped, was her.
Janie was scared and confused because if it was her that was kidnapped it would have been around when she was 3 years old. Was it her?..
