Contemporary society is sometimes portrayed as a kingdom dominated by knowledge of technology. The more and more advanced technology are from time to time cited as the evidence that we lived a world different from past. The technology has increased people's efficiency as well as benefit most people of societies. The primary goal of technological advancement is to improve the people's life and the development of societies.
Firstly, the technology, which is the main power of development of societies, greatly increased the people's efficiency. The introduction of diesel locomotives, for example, dramatically increased efficiency of railroad operations, which were tedious labor works and mainly finished by manpower. Another striking example is the automation of industrial production. Automation, which can increase the safety of certain production tasks manufacturing processes in many cases, has greatly improved manufacturing processes in many industries. In many large modern plants, there only have few workers in that the production assemblies are automatically controlled by computers.
