It is often said that there is no "I" in team, but no matter how much a team works together to beat an opponent, there is always one player that stands above the rest. This player is usually a player that shows great confidence, assertiveness, independence, competence and is able to make a decision within a spit second. To all football fans watching Super Bowl XXXVI, it was clear that the player that encompassed these extraordinary characteristic was New England's Quarter Back Tom Brady.
As a fan you may ask yourself what exactly motivates a person such as this to be so extraordinary in playing his position. Through his plays and team work it is clear to see that Brady is such an excellent player because he utilizes both internal and external locus of controls. When looking back at prior games he uses the enthusiasm of the fans and the home field advantage to motivate his teammates to produce winning games. We also see example of this in the Super Bowl, when the crowds begin to cheer, he turns this into a form of positive reinforcement and that's when plays are in control and goals are scored. However Brady also uses internal locus of control as a key motivator in his game. This type of internal motivation is shown in the second half when the Patriots are loosing.
