My Personal goals as a
University of Phoenix Student
In this essay I will outline what I hope to achieve by returning to school as well as what I think it will do for me. I have many mixed feelings about this endeavor, ranging from excitement to trepidation. Pursuing a degree will encompass having to make many sacrifices in the short term, but the rewards will be most beneficial in the long run.
My hopes of pursuing this particular coursework are to improve on my writing and communication skills, as well as becoming more familiar with business information systems, object oriented design methodologies, various computer languages, and internet related technologies.
I have risen through the ranks of engineering, starting off as an entry level technician, and achieved the classification of a Senior Firmware Engineer. I did so without an engineering degree. I am the only engineer in our division that does not have a degree. Returning to school and earning a degree will help to give me credibility in my field. It will also enhance my marketability. If I were to want, or need, a change in companies, or career occupations, then a degree would be a most advantageous vehicle whereby to do so...
