Outside Assignment
The news programs I viewed for this assignment were CNBC and CNN. I viewed CNBC on Tuesday March 10, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. on channel 29. The key story during this program was the presidential primary and the outcome of this in Mississippi, Florida, Texas, and Louisiana. Florida's primary was the main focus, many of the democrats are still angry about what happened in Florida in the 2000 election. A poll was taken about President Bush in Florida and the results were; 49% of Floridians were angry with President Bush, 37% were dissatisfied with the job he is doing, 8%of Floridians are satisfied with President Bush, and 2% are enthusiastic about President Bush and his accomplishments. Another poll was taken on how likely Senator Kerry can win Florida over President Bush. The results from this poll were 53% say it is very likely that Senator Kerry will win, 33% say it is somewhat likely that Senator Kerry will win, and 12% say it is not likely that Senator Kerry will win Florida over President Bush. Another issue that was discussed was how President Bush is trying to make Senator Kerry seem indecisive and too liberal for the independent voters in Florida...
