Tobacco smoking defines the action to inhale and exhale. Tobacco is a plant that is openly used within society today, and for many it remains a routine to their everyday life. Although there are growing concerns on the medical effects of the tobacco, many people still continue to use it. I aim to investigate the harmful effects tobacco has on the human body; and also the reasons why people find it difficult to quit on a chemical interpretation.
The tobacco plant originated within the Northern Hemisphere and the leaves are prepared for smoking, chewing or sniffing. Tobacco users often state how the use of the substance calms and relaxes them especially when they are stressful. Tobacco contains more than 4,000 chemicals (e.g. ammonia, carbon monoxide). Nicotine is the most recognised for the effects of addiction; tobacco also contains over 19 known carcinogens, which contribute to serious harmful effects on the body...
