Iraqi women for decades have enjoyed greater quality than most women of Arab countries. Although this may be true, Iraqi women have struggled for their rights for nearly one hundred years. Under Saddam Hussein's regimes, these rights have continued. In some parts of the country both men and women receive the same salary, but at the same time though, the sanctions against Iraqi have caused huge suffering among the women and children. Many Iraqi women want more freedom and independence.
Iraq remains among the regions of least developed countries and it scores highest in women's empowerment (Banerjee 1). Iraqi women have a reason to be weary for their rights towards the future. There are a number of possible regimes that may replace after the fall of Saddam. There are even some possible regimes that could take away all of their existing rights such as the Muslim regime.
