Tessa is 16; she lives at home with her mother and her two-year-old daughter, Stephanie. During the day Tessa goes to school, and her mother stays with Stephanie. Then Tessa comes home to be with her daughter, and her mother goes to work. On the weekends Tessa works part-time to earn extra money. Tessa used to like school and was a pretty good student. She used to think that she would go to college and maybe, if she worked hard enough to graduate school. It all changed when she became pregnant her life was put on hold because she had to care for her child. Her everyday life was taking care child and working, not going to school and learning like every other teen. This is only a small portion of what goes on in a teenage mothers life. Teen parents face more difficulties in parenting their child and are less likely to further their education beyond high school than adult parents who become pregnant...
