One of the most controversial issues in today's world is same-sex marriage. Same-sex marriage is marriage between two partners of the same sex. With homosexuality starting to find its way into mainstream America, the issue of legalizing gay and lesbian marriage is being debated constantly. This issue is causing both political and religious controversy. Much of the opposition to same-sex marriage comes from The Bible and the Roman Catholic Church, which promotes the union of a man and a woman. George Bush refuses to budge and believes that same-sex marriage should not be permitted in the United States. It is true that gays and lesbians should be treated with dignity and respect like all other humans. But if legislation were to approve an amendment legalizing same-sex marriage, there is no telling when radical social changes would end. Because of the social tension and moral matters involved in this issue, it would be best if same-sex marriages were not legalized throughout America.
Legalizing same-sex marriages would be a radical sweeping change, and there is no telling what new social issues would be brought to the forefront of society if this occurred...
