Can Importing Drugs Help High Drug Costs?
Between 1 million and 1.5 million people in the United States are buying prescription drugs from Canada over the Internet. 800 million dollars is being spent each year to bring Canadian drugs across the border to the U.S.. An incredible number of people are participating in the importation of drugs and spending huge amounts of money, yet it is still illegal. Some states are finding ways to work around the law and offering less expensive drugs to people.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is trying to enforce the law by stopping the importation of Canadian drugs. They feel that some of the drugs coming in the U.S..
