Many different and important people have gone through many journeys throughout history. When one thinks of a journey, one often thinks of a great distance traveled physically. However, the journeys taken by these people have not only been physical, but have also covered great distances mentally, and even through time. Three characters who took such journeys were St. Augustine, Abd Allah ibn Salam, and Sirat al-Mu'ayyad. Each character had different reasons for embarking on their journeys, and each character extracted different lessons from their journeys, but through their journeys, each character was able to find out valuable lessons about themselves that greatly affected the rest of their lives.
