Imagine yourself lying on a warm beach, your toes tucked under the sand. The warm sun beats on your already tanned skin as you sip your cool, pineapple drink. You hear the sound of the Pacific Ocean’s waves crashing together. And you feel as if you have just found paradise. Well you have. You are in Honolulu, Hawaii. About three years ago, my family and I got to experience this scenario I have just mentioned in real life. We also got to learn a lot of facts about Hawaii as a state and some of it’s historical attributes, such as Pearl Harbor. Today I would like to share with you just exactly what we experienced at our stay in Honolulu, Hawaii. Let’s get started with some history on Hawaii itself. Hawaii became the 50th state of the Union on August 21, 1959. It consists of eight main islands, and it’s biggest island also called Hawaii, is almost twice as large as the rest of the islands combined.
