Boxing is an exhilarating sport, making your name in the ring is tough, by being extremely tough, and defeating some of the most well known boxers in record time is how boxing legend Mike Tyson created a name for himself in the ring. Despite his personal success, Tyson did experience some personal troubles along his way.
American Boxer, Michael Gerald Tyson was born on June 30, 1966, in Brooklyn, New York to Lorna and Jimmy Kirkpatrick. Tyson's father Jimmy left the family when Tyson was only two years old. Before Mike was twelve years old he joined a gang in the Brooklyn area where he lived and started to get into trouble with the law. After an arrest for armed robbery, he was sent to the Tyron School in 1978, the school was a correction center for juveniles in upstate New York. It was there that his life would change directions.
On the wee hours of July 19,1991 Tyson met Desiree Washington, a Miss Black America contestant, at a pageant rehearsal. The pair goes to Tyson's hotel room in the early morning hours. The following day, Washington filed a complaint with police alleging Tyson raped her...
