Purpose
The target school is a community school located in the Western Communities. The community is over 20,000 acres, making it the seventh largest city in the county of Palm Beach, Florida. The resident population of the city is 42,000 and was incorporated in 1995. The average household income is between $55,000 to $65,000. The city generates a large amount of its income from the Equestrian and Polo clubs, which have a full season of play from the months of November to April.
During the school year of 2001-2002 approximately 3730 students attended the target school. The racial and ethnic makeup of the school is 72% (2678) White, 15% (543) Hispanic, 9.0% (324) Black, 1.6% Multicultural, and ...
