It's a Saturday night and your telephone rings. Your best friend is on the line telling you about a party going on tonight that she has just heard about and would like for you to attend. Immediately you get dressed and while you are looking in the mirror admiring your outfit you look down at your feet and realize that something is just not right. The shoes do nothing for this outfit. For a minute, I want you to think about your favorite pair of shoes. Jordans, Steve Madden, Faragamos, Nine West, Diesels, Chuck Taylor or maybe just some white Air force Ones. Shoes make a statement. But how did this statement start? Today, I want to talk to you about the history of shoes, why shoes were created, how they were made, and what shoes have grown to mean to us today.
