Summary:
Tom Burtuska went into detail about how environment has a lot to do with our prospective and concepts we come up with. The quantitve dimensions consist of levels of organization. Our brain has two sides. The left is more the science part. In design, the left part of the brain deals with analysis, symbolic references, rational, and temporal (dealing with a sense of time). On the other hand, the right side deals more with the synthesis, spatial, rational, intuitive, and non-temporal.
Our human environment has two processes. One is the alive environment, which is both natural and built. The other process has two angles; they are linear/logical versus systems/ecological thinking. Linear and logical are more about the function and how something works with its environment...
