For my science fair project, I am testing whether or not how acidic or basic a liquid is will effect its freezing rate. The topics important to my project are: liquids, the pH scale, acids, bases, litmus/litmus paper and freezing points. By reading this paper, you will find information on those subjects and that of the such. In our society there are many types of liquids, all of which are acidic, basic or neutral. A scale was created to aid in the categorization of those liquids. This scale is called “The pH Scale”. The pH scale was not made to count the ions but instead, to measure the gram equivalent per liter of solution. A liquid’s pH level tells us how acidic or basic that liquid is according to its rating, as determined by the scale.
