TEENAGE SEX AND THE MEDIA
During the adolescent years, communication between a teen and their parents or guardians is often at a low level. Many teens have difficulty discussing any issue with them, let alone one like SEX! Children spend and average of 15,000 hours watching television during their school years. They witness countless murders, rapes and assaults. In this research, the variables, which will be discussed in further detail, will demonstrate how the independent variables such as the amount of television being viewed by teens, their environment and their family will manipulate the dependant variable, their attitudes toward sex. Subjects will have been chosen at random. They were chosen from Pierrefonds Comprehensive high school. Grades seven through grades nine were chosen for this research.
