When you look at a teddy bear, the first thing you think is not the twenty-sixth president of the United States. Yet Theodore Roosevelt is where teddy bears got their names. After seeing a cartoon in the newspaper of President Roosevelt, Mr. Morris Michton asked the president if he could call some stuffed bears his wife had made "Teddy's bears". (Theodore Roosevelt Association) This of course is not the greatest accomplishment Mr. Roosevelt made during his presidency, but it may be the cutest. Three of Theodore Roosevelt biggest contributions during his presidency were his changes to industry, foreign policy, and his actions for conservation of the United States of America's natural resources.
President Roosevelt had many views about big business. First of all, he believed that there should be a "square deal"; a belief that everyone should basically play nice.
