N. Scott Momaday wrote several books primarily based on Native Americans. We read two excerpts from one of his books, peculiar sections to pick, but interesting enough. Momaday was obvioulsy concerned with the connetion between Native Americans and Christianity. I think that some of his questions, personal opinions, doubts, and the ways he has come to realize and accept are prevalent in his writing, especially in the January 26th and 27th excerpts. In Momaday's January 26th excerpt about Reverened Tosamah, Tosamah acknowledges some parts of Christianity, according to the book of Genesis and the gospel of John. I sometimes think that religion should be something that you either fully accept or you don't at all. But I respect Momaday and "Reverened Tosamah" for picking and choosing what to believe. There are things in the Catholic religion and the bible that I don't believe in, and I have often wondered if questioning my faith makes me lesser of a Catholic...
