Robert Morris' Block (1966) creates different emotions for different groups of people. There was simply a black, white and gray picture in front of the class. At first I was just thinking, "Okay, it's just a block of concrete." It wasn't until my professor fully explained to the class how the block "works". Morris took some of the most basic shapes possible and created something that not only displays emotion but also forces one to think and get lost in a wave of awe. The viewer must go beyond the initial glance and look beyond a "block." A kiss is very similar to this. On the surface, it looks like two people pressing their lips together. In many instances however, there is a much deeper meaning to a kiss. Kissing can display love and passion...
