Is Divorce Really the only Option?
Marriage is supposed to be "till death do you part." Nowadays marriages are lucky to last a year. One out of every two marriages ends in divorce. In Noel Perrins writing, A Part time marriage, the author presents a possible solution to the problem of high divorce rates in our society. He believes that some couples cannot handle a traditional seven-day-a-week marriage. He proposes the idea of a part time marriage, where the two people live in different places and only see each other a few days out of the week. For some couples that may be the solution, for others it may not (especially those with a family). The truth is a lot of people get married thinking that they are going to live happily ever after. When this does not happen, people do not know what to do; they think divorce is their only option...
