Romans 1-3 Summary: Paul is set out to be a disciple of Christ and spread the gospel. We should be mutually encourage by each other’s faith. God’s wrath is against the godless. God gave them over to shameful lust. Just because you are Jews doesn’t mean that you are excused. No one, not Jew nor Gentile is considered to be righteous. Righteousness comes through faith in God. Observations: Paul is very anointed by God. It seems as he is writing his letter that he is writing down exactly what God is saying to him. It’s also commendable that he left the life that was familiar to him to go out and spread the gospel to the gentiles. In these few passages Paul is talking about how we should relate to those in the body with us. Then he goes on talking about those who are in the body and what will happen to them. Romans 4-6 Summary: Abraham was justified by his works. Blessed is the man whose sins were forgiven. Abraham was blessed before he was circumcised. God will credit righteousness. Since we are justified through faith, we have peace with God. Even God’s enemies are justified through his Son. Sin came into the world through one man. Sine was also abolished through one man. We should not sin so that grace can increase.
