Puritanism
Puritanism was period of time before the Great Awakening. Puritans were very firm in their beliefs. The Puritans followed a few basic beliefs. The first is total depravity. That means everyone is born sinful. Another belief Puritans followed was unconditional election. God "saves" those he wishes, only a few are selected for salvation. Also, Limited atonement- Jesus died for the chosen only, not for everyone. Irresistible grace comes fourth. God's grace is freely given, it can't be earned or denied...
