In every society men ad woman are socialized t respond to each other in specific ways. The way that people react to each other is largely based on gender which is a reflection of social status and expectation of other members of society.
From the time of early childhood we are all taught that little boys play with trucks, guns and sports. It is acceptable, almost expected that little boys will play more aggressively and "get dirty." Little girls on the other hand are expected to play with dolls and "play house." In contrast to little boys they are expected to play more quietly to be dainty and certainly not to be out playing in the dirt.
