The person I decided to interview about the six characteristics of a successful marriage was my mom. The first characteristic she chose was communication. Because, it reveals the very nature and character of the person whether good or bad, tasteful or distasteful. It presents their true self to the other person their prejudices, tastes, judgments, and their hopes, dreams, and aspirations. She said in a marriage you need to communicate with some skill. Often her husband and her are different, would "talk" but fail to "communicate". That will just make matters worse. From the beginning of their relationship they found an effective way to communicate. By sharing information, ideas, and emotions even though her husband doesn't like to share his feelings. She included that communication is often the major player in holding a marriage together...
