EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The larger the world economy, the more dominant its smaller players become. The global paradox seems to be a valid starting point when discussing politics and economics of the 21st century; particularly where Canadian firms are concerned. Let's begin with the fundamental definition of a paradox a statement or formulation that seems illogical or contradictory but is actually valid or factual. What exactly is the Global Paradox? It deals with the merging of two separate studies: the study of the smallest economic player the entrepreneur, and the study of how the global economy works. We are beginning to see the integration of the economic world, where the component parts become more numerous and smaller, and also more important. Suddenly the global economy is growing at a phenomenal pace, even as the size of the individual parts is shrinking.
Vast new possibilities for improving human welfare are emerging because of economic integration and technological change. These forces empower consumers in their dealings with firms, skilled employees in negotiations with employers, and citizens in their relationships with various levels of government...
