Every highly heartrending and thrilling character in mythology has a fatal flaw that leads to his or her downfall. In every story the incidents that lead up to the fatal flaw, and the flaw itself is called "fate". The Greeks highly believed in fate and that one could not alter his or her own fate. If it was ones fate to suffer a downfall then so be it. No character could alter his or her fate. The play Medea, written by Euripides, shows a character that is betray and because of that betrayal she takes vengeance on everyone around her. Medea is that character and is no exception to the rule of having a fatal flaw. Medea's flaw of obsession was her love for Jason, her anti-heroic behavior and her quest for vengeance.
