Whats a virus
A Virus is a self reproducing program, that can do a few different things. We've got BootSector, Appending, Overwriting and Companion virusses. The BootSector virusses replicate their selves into the startup segment of your disk(s), and are mostly loaded into your memory as soon as you try to read
an infected disk.
Appending virusses do nothing else then adding their selfves to other programs. They put a jump at the beginning of the program, to the place in the program, where the virus is located. After the virus is executed sometimes visible effects or sound effects may take place. After this the virus jumps back to the official beginning of the program, and tries to run the program. Infected .Com files, witch are larger then 64k will not run anymore, unless they are renamed .EXEfiles...
