How Technology Has Taken OverOur Elementary Education Classrooms

Technology started off playing a tiny role within our classrooms, but it seems like the more advanced technology becomes the more it seems like it is taking over the classroom. It is okay to use technology throughout the lesson plan for the year within the classroom. It seems to me that some teachers have taken advantage of the use of technology being right at hands reach. They are allowing the technology to teach the students instead of them being the ones up in front of the classroom teaching.
My opinion on technology being within the classroom is diverse, because I feel that technology does belong inside the classroom, but to a certain extent. I mean after all technology should not be replacing the old ways of learning, it is only suppose to increase the students ability to be able to learn in a different way. Technology should only be used to assist the teachers in their teaching process; it should not be able to replace the old ways of teaching, such as doing research in the library or doing calculations by hand or memory. The main technology that I am going to focus on is the use of computers and the Internet within the classrooms.
Computers should not be a crutch that a student leans on and looks forward to being there to be able to breeze through an assignment. Computers help students in various ways, but a computer can not give the same quality understanding that a teacher can give a student...
