The term abortion means the intentional termination of pregnancy by any means and at anytime from conception to full term. ... In this paper, we will talk about the intentional or induced abortion because of all the issues roiling the ongoing culture wars in our society, induced abortion is both the most intimate and the most common. ... Then, doctors were not allowed to perform abortion to women because cases like abortion were regarded as immoral and were more risky than they are now. ... Afterall, one of the main typical reasons why people have abortion is because they have done something society disapproves of and are trying to hide their tracks. Other reasons may be that the lady is too young or immature to have a child, the ladies husband, partner or parent want her to have an abortion, the lady cannot afford a baby, the lady or the fetus has a health problem, or the lady was a victim of a rape or incest.
The issue of abortion dates back to the 19th century in the United States of America. According to James Mohr in his book ‘Abortion in America’, ‘the practice of aborting unwanted pregnancies then was, if not common, almost certainly was not rare because no jurisdiction in the United States had enacted any statutes on the subject.
