Bookkeepers and accounting clerks is a very large-sized occupation with around 11,960 employed locally. Majority work in finance, insurance, real estate, and trade service industries. Nationally it is estimated that seven percent of bookkeeping, accounting and auditing clerks are men. It is proven that bookkeepers and accounting clerks may face stressful situations when trying to meet deadlines. Many bookkeepers work with little or no supervision and may work with clients. Because bookkeepers and accounting clerks pay close attention to detailed numerical information they may incur eye and back strain when working for long periods at their terminals.
