BEHAVIORAL THERAPY
There is no single group model that can be called a behavioral group. Behavioral therapy is best conceptualized as a general orientation to clinical practice that is based on the experimental approach to the study of behavior.
Ivan Pavlov was born on September 14, 1849 in the small village of Rayzan, in central Russia. His father was the village priest, and his family had hoped he would also become a priest. He attended the local theological seminary.
After being introduced to the works of Charles Darwin and Ivan Sechenov, he found that he cared more for natural science and he left the seminary. In 1870 he entered the University of St. Petersburg, where is studied chemistry and physiology. He gained a great respect for one of his professors, Cyon.
