Alonzo Harding Mourning Jr. was born on February 8, 1970 in Chesapeake, Virginia. He was born to Alonzo Sr. and Julia Alonzo. When he was 12 years old, his parents divorced and he was sent to live with a family friend by the name of Fannie Threet. Even at this age he was extremely tall; he was six feet three inches. Because of all these changes in his life he began to get into trouble.
To keep him out of any harm, friends and family suggested that he begin to play basketball and that's where it all began. It was not easy for him at first because he was very awkward and clumsy. He started to work harder to prove to everyone he was good at one thing...
