The Gift of Life
Organ and tissue donations are a chance to give life. Since the first experimental kidney transplant in the 1950's doctors have received new hope through organ and tissue transplants. With today's advances in medical science, organ and tissue transplants are widely accepted methods of medical treatment. However, there is a major shortage of organs and tissues available. While thousands of children and adults experience a second chance at life through transplantation each year, thousands more die while waiting for their chance. Organ donation is a very ethical issue in our country, I feel that everyone should be an organ donor and give someone a second chance at life.
