The boiling point of salt in water depends on the amount of salt put in. 1 tablespoon of salt boils at about 209 degrees Fahrenheit. What temperature exactly is the measure of the average kinetic energy of the particles in a sample of matter, expressed in terms of units or degrees designated on a standard scale. QUESTION Does salt have an effect on the boiling point of water? PURPOSE To find out how table salt affects the boiling temperature of water. HYPOTHESIS Adding table salt to boiling water will cause the water to boil at a lower temperature.
