The baby boomer population comprises those individuals who were born in the years between 1946 and 1964, which is about 80 million people. The baby boomer generation has contributed many revolutionary ideas to the workplace, like working from the home and promoting a more casual workplace. Also, they have extremely good work ethics that help to serve as guidelines for the generations that follow. For most people of this generation, work is a very important part of their lives and a 70-hour workweek is rather normal. In fact, their lives usually revolve around their work. Moreover, baby boomers are known for seeking continual knowledge, in the hopes of learning qualities that will enable them to climb further up the business ladder and to teach others their findings.
As the baby boomer population nears retirement, they will have a tremendous impact on the workforce. To explain, the baby boomer population is so large that any generation that follows will be too small to fill all of the jobs that will be left vacant. Therefore, the economy will fall extremely short on workers and will face a financial blow when allocating social security funds.
